About Fredericksburg

Fredericksburg, TX is located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country in Gillespie County. It is the perfect location for a relaxing getaway, ladies shopping spree or a romantic weekend. Fredericksburg is surrounded by wineries, state parks, peach orchards, lavender farms, golf courses, museums, art galleries, antique stores, spas and over fifty restaurants and of course Fredericksburg Fudge. Fredericksburg Fudge opened it's door September 3, 1981 and has sucessfully offered it's cooked from scratch fudge and candies to our customers ever since. There are over 100 quaint shops featuring clothing, jewelry, gifts, home furnishings, antiques, arts and crafts, iron works and the best fudge ever made.

Fredericksburg, TX has a rich history. It was settled in 1846 by a group of German immigrants looking for a better way of life. They were a strong and courageous group, led by John Meusebach. A successful treaty was forged with the Comanche and they were able to exist together peacefully. Today Fredericksburg's German heritage is reflected in its architecture, food and rich traditions.
